Designed and painted in the PA Wilds

The PA Wilds is a rural region of Pennsylvania made up of 2.1 million acres of public land covering a 12 1/2 county area. Only 4% of the State's population lives within the boundaries of this region which boasts 2 million acres of State Game Lands, 29 State Parks and 16,000 miles of waterways. Julie Mader is a juried PA Wilds Maker and the work made at her in-home studio is sold online at the PA Wilds Marketplace.

Art to Live With

I love functional art, and Julie’s hand painted silk scarves are beautiful. The holiday Poinsettias are one of my favorites as I can wear them throughout the winter season or even use them in my holiday décor on a table or draped over a curtain or swag. I get many compliments and expressions of awe when I explain that my scarves are one-of-a-kind works of art! - Claudia S.  Pennsylvania

Daily walks with my dachshund Monty often includes the ground-level discoveries of spiderwebs, water tumbling and plants budding out. I geek out over the patterns of bark, sedimentary rocks, water ripples and the perfect symmetry of flowers, all of which can be found in my artwork.
